The food is simply amazing. Always served hot and fresh. There is ample parking and a quick trip up the stairs food heaven awaits. I pretty much go a few times a week to get my fill of their delicious creations.
The coconut rice is really good and all the curry dishes are very flavorful. They can make it hotter if you require it. I always get it hotter but that's just me. If you have a chance...

Nice restaurant but we've been spoiled with great Thai in Vancouver and the food here just doesn't measure up. Bland food lacking the real kick and complex flavors of real Thai.
The Baan Thai has a Thai chef and it really shows (or should I say tastes)? The food is prepared with the most delicate combination of spices. Try the seafood salad for a real treat.
WIne and beer list is reasonably well priced. Food is priced mid range. Service is reliably good.
Ordered take-out - green curry with chicken was very poor, vegetables overcooked and flavour was dismal. Chicken pad thai was absolutely nauseating ... the noodles were similar to what you'd find in chow mein about to be thrown out after a long day sitting in a food court, soggy and sloppy, the vegetables were something else ... terribly overcooked broccoli... more
We've tried to eat here before but couldn't get a table. That's generally a good sign so we tried again and we got a table right away. We're both very happy that we went. What an excellent meal!. Very good food with excellent service. The setting is a bit inconvenient due to stairs to get in but otherwise it's comfortable... more
I know ... strange place to take your wife for your Anniversary but this is where we both wanted to go. They take reservations, the food is always hot, fresh and very taste ! to add to the meal the wine is reasonable as well and a nice white chilled wine goes well with the spicey thai food. We always... more
Good value and tasty food. Quick and efficient service. The red curry was authentic. Would go back for sure!
My mom and I ate here when I was visiting CR last weekend. We each had coconut chicken soup which was very, very good and fresh and tasty. That would have been plenty but we also ordered their special of the day as it looked so good when they were delivering it to anther table. It was prawns and vegetables... more
My wife and I first experienced Baan Thai Restaurant as visitors to Campbell River and now, as residents, it has become a favorite spot for lunch and dinner out. The food is flavorful and easy on the wallet. It is a clean comfortable restaurant with friendly and polite staff. We are looking forward to bringing our visitors.
Took some business associates there April 23, 2014 based on their recommendation. Wow. Great Food, Great Service and nice atmosphere. I will be going back again!
We pick up take out food from here often. flavours are fabulous. the gaeng kari and gaeng masaman are my favourites
.
Love the food here. The Tom Yum soup is delicious. The service is always top notch. Would recommend the Baan Thai for lunch or dinner.
This restaurant was suggested by our hotel staff. It is in the main street, upstairs.
It has all the usual Thai dishes, and while not exceptional, it is good quality, well priced, well presented and with friendly service. There is a limited but adequate wine list.
Well worth a visit.
Good place to eat real Thai food in town ,nice patio and friendly service ,good authentic Thai food will go back for sure
This is one of the few restaurants in Campbell River open on a Monday! We didn't intend to eat here but after driving around to 6 places that were closed we saw Baan Thai. The food was very good, very fresh. Not the most amazing Thai food I have ever eaten but much better than average, and the prices were... more
Having spent 3 weeks in Thailand this winter we had very modest expectations of the Baan Thai Restaurant in Campbell River. We were pleasantly surprised and were rewarded with a meal that was as good as we had at similar quality restaurants in Phuket and Bangkok!
We were so impressed that we had takeout four weeks later on our next...

This is one of the friendly places to eat in town. We have always had good service and excellent food. The coconut milk based soup is quite excellent. The menu has many healthy items. It is a restaurant that locals and folk from nearby towns support..
We moved to CR a while ago and love Thai food .... when we first visited the Baan Thai I found their food to be different from other Thai food but that is because it is. It is cooking from a different region then we were used to ... but even though it was not what we were used to... more
The food is very good. The restaurant is quite small, but nice. I find some of the menu a bit overpriced. Not a place for small children.
Great place to go for fresh quality food. If you like this type of food you will be happy you tried this restaurant out. We will go back again for sure
Wow. I think this place possibly has the best thai food on the island. I lived in Victoria for 6 years and no one came close to the level that these guys operate at. Simple, delicious and priced to sell. If you like a little spice, then this will make you happy. I think they'll be around for awhile.
Decent food but nothing that stood out as terribly unique or special.
Final Thoughts: I would go back if I was in the mood for Thai (mostly for lack of option in the area).
Take the staircase & elevate your self up to the quality food found here. Friendly atmosphere, peaceful, welcoming. The food here never disapoints & of course they cater to your spice tolerance. The green thai curry is a favourite. Fresh ingredients, freshly presented. Enjoy.
friendly staff, small place, not inexpensive. the food is good - pad thai reliably tasty and plentiful serving.
Very good service. Fresh food spiced to your liking. Lovely server offered helpful suggestions. REasonably priced. Nice decor.
This restaurant has authentic Esan Thai food, and you can get it anywhere from mild to spicey and the portions are very generous! The atmosphere is pleasent and all of the prices are good for such an upscale establishment.
Anyone that wants a good filling meal will enjoy this restaurant, The owner Pha is a very helpfull when dealing with...

Reasonably priced Thai food, very friendly welcome and good service. Only downside: airco is a bit too cold. Otherwise: recommended!
Consistently good Thai food, many specials. It is our dining place of choice in Campbell River, always busy, attractive decor.
Authentic Thai cuisine, awesome Pad thai and curries
The restaurant looked a little questionable from the exterior, but the inside was pleasant with a lot of windows. The service was excellent and all the food items were good.
I spent over $50 and the food was awful, I couldn't even eat it. A menu that large means everything is prepackaged and it tasted like it. I will never go there again.
In the past, we have been happy with the service here. We came here tonight, and the service was very slow and waitress was also really rude. We waited 25 minutes and didn't even receive our drinks. The waitress tried to use the excuse that it was really busy, but there was only two other tables to wait on. She... more
Really reasonably - especially the daily special combo. Very tasty and well priced, a great place to go for a not too fancy lunch.
Delicious curries, fast service despite only having one server for lunch hour. She was a little strange and she clapped her hands and exclaimed "yeah", after I told her the meal was delicious. Despite that interesting behavior, it was great value. Try e coconut rice! Excellent!
Really nice atmosphere, and great food. It's Thai food, adjusted for Western palates and it doesn't get any better than this.
We have eaten in probably more than 20 "so-called" Thai Restaurants, in Western Canada and Baan Thai, is by far the best.
I would consider it an upscale restaurant with very moderate prices.
Nice experience, great time, good selection...

We had a few dishes and they were average but the servers attitude was lousy.
The four of us went back a second night for dinner since we enjoyed the first night so well.
The food is fresh - there are lots of menu items and the prices are very reasonable.
We would go back again.
We really enjoyed the food we ate here. Thai green curry, noodle dishes and soup were all great.
If you can go to the cafe underneath (though only open til 5) and get a chocolate chip cookie, best cookies we've ever had! $2 each but worth every cent!
We ate here 2 years ago. The food was ok but the service/ organisation was a mess. Nevertheless we decided to go again this year. Just to make sure we made reservations. When we came in the waitress didnt even greeted us and told us straight away that is was busy and we had to sit and wait. Altough there... more
Locals and tourists alike will LOVE Baan Thai.
This was my first Thai restaurant experience, truly fantastic.
We showed up super late for our reservation, took forever to order & were generally a pain in the butt.
The food was fantastic, service was good and friendly, excellent prices & portions.

An unexpected Thai treat. Campbell River is, without wishing to cause offense, rather remote, and quite an unusual looking town. So it was quite surprising to find not only a Thai restaurant, but a very good one.

Service was fast. I was craving for a Pad Thai ; I've been to Thailand for 2 months and I have a good idea of the taste. There was noddles, egg, bean sprouts... but carrots? broccolis? oranges ? brown super sweet not spicy soy sauce ? It wasn 't bad, just not a Pad Thai. Wine glass was more like... more
Was there for business earlier this year, and to be honest, I wasn't expecting gourmet fare here, but it was much better than most restaurants in small towns. Food was actually very tasty and filling. The only problem, was sitting on the upper floor near the window was a very hot experience. I'd estimate it was over 35 degrees there with the direct sunlight and no ventilation.
I was up in Campbell River for work and saw this Thai place above a lovely little cheese and deli shop. I stopped for their lunch special on a seriously rainy day. I only had their soup and spring roll with rice, but it was delicious and checking the prices on the menu, it all looked comparable to any hole-in-the-wall Thai place around Vancouver.
Inside it was beautiful, modern but not overly...

This is a great Thai restaurant. Food is as good or better than anything you will find in Vancouver.
Wow... hidden jem. Whooda thunk! I was pleasantly surprised walking (up) to Baan Thai. Great food and good service.
This is by far the best tasting food in town, my friends and I love this place, great service, amazing food, and all around a cute little place!
awesome lunch menu, been there once
veeeeerrrryyy good food. like Thai? this is the restaraunt for you. i like it alot
