Great meal at a great price

We had the pre-5:30 special which was excellent. One party had the Quebec meat pie, which special included choice of beverage, soup/salad and dessert. Total cost was $20 plus tax and tip.
The other entree was the Filet with wild sausage special which included beverage, soup/salad and dessert for $25.00. Both specials were excellent and would recommend.

We came to Quebec 37 years ago and had not returned until now.

Went there expecting to taste some good local and traditional dishes. Dee is Québécois. Huge disappointment. Huge tourist trap. Over priced. The food was severally lacking in flavour. The meat was dry and tasteless. I can't see them getting repeat customers. Insult to what a tourtière should be.

While the food was pretty tasty (they over do it with the maple syrup a bit), the quality doesn't warrant the cost. The room is pretty cool, however. Finally, the service is run by more teenagers than professionals.

Cost during afternoon is great and allows low budget to experience Canadian food. Loved the food, cozy environment and great bread.

The food was very expensive for what it was and I'd class it as a "very good" restaurant if it was at a normal price, but I'd say it is poor value for money - one moose steak was over $100!!

Great food and ambiance.

The place to be for one of the oldest buildings in the city and eat some of the native dishes special to Canada. Rustic, cosy feel that helps one slip back in time! Centrally located so that you can roll anywhere in the old town or downhill to the harbor. May need to book in all seasons.

Just stopped here for a drink with my wife one evening, so I can't talk about the food. But the atmoshpere is wonderful and service great. The review software won't let me post my review until I rate the food, but since I didn't have any, I feel I can't fairly rate it, so for the benefit of posting, I will rate the food very good.

Great lunch on a cold day!

Having read the prior reviews we stopped in for lunch on a cold day. The warm country Canadian atmosphere warmed our cold bones quickly. The meal was perfectly portioned and the Canadian wines complimented the food nicely. Yes, the food has lots of meat and has pastry and yes pastry can be difficult, but this is a great stopover for a hearty luncheon that you will remember positively!

Best described as bringing back memories of almost inedible Refectory food. The crust was soggy and fatty. My Salmon was better and fair value given the price but nothing to rave over. For some authentic food and atmosphere, it's hard to beat the supposed oldest building in Quebec City. Atmosphere and food lend itself to a romantic evening out. Although not the best food choice in old Quebec, it doesn't leave you disappointed.

Amazing traditional french cooking in a very small dining room with friendly and professional hosts who take their job seriously! The lunch set menus are a great way to experience this place without paying an extraordinary amount. You have to book, or you'll be disappointed. This place was probably the highlight of a week in Quebec City for me - I went 3 times!

Fine overall dining experience

Just came back from dinner and everyone in our party was delighted with the food, service and atmosphere. We shared a meat pie appetizer and it was delicious. I had pheasant, my wife turkey, and my son duck. All were delicious. Our best dining experience so far during this week in Canada.
