Lovely lovely lovely

I found Brian & Carol and their helpers very friendly and welcoming - prepared to spend time to explain how I would go places and suggesting where I should go.
The breakfasts were great - freshly prepared fuit salad + cooked ( with fresh herbs from the garden).

The situation of the guest house is like an ideal. A peaceful place near the center and the tourist places to go and come back walking. The neigbourhood looks safe and quiet.

Cramped
June 25, 2012Sorry, the hosts are lovely but the only word to describe the shared toilet on the first floor is cramped. The single room isn't much better. Try a different room and you will have a lovely stay in a lovely part of Ottawa.

I am so over hotels and sometimes you just don't want to stay in a hostel
June 25, 2012Hot shower. Breakfast was on time and awesome. Comfiest bed ever. Owners are pleasant and unintrusive. Staying at a bed and breakfast enhanced the experience because I got to feel what it's like to wake up return "home" as if I actually lived in the city in that neighbourhood. Very homey atmosphere and I felt very secure here.

Good, but with a warning
August 19, 2011Like others, we enjoyed the Australis and recommend it. However, one point is worth noting about the top floor room. Because you have the whole floor, it's very spacious. But the floor is incredibly creaky. We couldn't even roll over in bed without making the floor emit loud noises. If that doesn't bother you, enjoy the hospitality.
