The Quality Inn is conveniently located within walking distance to the University of Calgary, Olympic Oval, McMahon Stadium, Foothills Hospital, Children’s Hospital and opposite the Public Train
Rooms are new and very clean very good showers nice pool.only complaints are parking can be tight and is tight in toilet area but overall a great place
We were pleased with our stay. The room made good use of space and was comfortable. Very good value for what we paid. Would definitely stay at the Aloft Calgary University again!
Hotel was clean and new. Lounge had fair prices. Food from the commissary was expensive as to be expected. A bunch of stuff was expired, and the fresh food has no dates on it, so you have no idea when it was made, and I suspect they don't. I purchased a vegetable dip platter, and most of it was wilted/dried out from being in the fridge too long. The staff was friendly, except one gentleman who... more
Really clean and new! Staff responded well to moving me after an air conditioner from adjacent Hotel started to have a high pitch noise. Respectful, responsive and accommidating. All you could ask for!
The staff was extremely helpful the rooms were very clean there was a nice bar the hotel shower did not seem to get very hot but otherwise my stay at this hotel overall wAs very good
I stayed there for 6 nights due to relocation. Everything was as advertised except secure internet. There was free open WiFi available. Room was spacious and clean. Bed was okay. Location somewhat close to a few amenities and public transit. Staff was somewhat knowledgeable and friendly.
Refused to pay the outrageous hotel rates in downtown Calgary so tried this hotel which is about a 12 minute ride to the downtown. The décor in the lobby was a little out there, but the room was very comfortable (good bed, good TV and good shower) and quiet. Will go back there on my next business trip.
We checked in late but staff was welcoming. Décor was modern but we could not figure out the wash basin design. There was only one inch or less room between the tap water outlet and the basin. Washing anything (not just hands) was a challenge. We stayed over Sunday night and it was quiet. Mattress was comfortable. Checking out early and did enjoy the complimentary coffee at the lobby.
We were skeptical when we first approached as there was quite a party going on in the parking lot and the underground parking was unusual to say the least but the room was really unique, clean, with lots of amenities. The staff was helpful and friendly. It was easily accessible off of Hwy#1/16th and I would recommend you try it out. We were only overnight guests but really enjoyed our stay.
When I made the reservation....I did not know it was a spg. The hotel was Very clean, extremely quiet, easy to get to the stadium, downtown and to the Ironwood blues bar and grill.Checkout was abit of a problem...other than that I will stay here again.
Was a great value new hotel. Very helpful staff!
Staff was great - friendly, professional, helpful. I enjoyed my stay and wished that I could have stayed another day or so. This is where I will stay next time I am in town.
Attractive entry and open interior gives an instant feeling of relaxation! Friendly and helpful staff with a positive attitude. Bonuses include coupons for choosing to go "green" which can be used toward breakfast at the buffet. A fairly good choice of breakfast options, although, as a Celiac, I would have liked to see more options for people with dietary needs. However, I was told that they... more
modern rooms. staff were great. close to stadium and university. would recommend.
Aloft Calgary University was more than I expected. Service was great and the location next to the LRT makes heading into Kensington or the downtown core quick and convenient. I will definitely stay at this hotel again.
Its not often you find a hotel for this price and when you do you usually have very low expectations, however I was pleasantly surprised by the modern and very nice hotel and rooms. We originally were placed on the main floor and requested a room on a higher floor. By doing so we got a larger room with much higher ceilings. If you stay here I would suggest you request the same. The hotel had a... more
We were not there long., one night. Room was small but had everything you needed.
My husband and I stayed at Aloft Calgary (University) during the recent Keith Urban concert. When we got the concert tickets we didn't realize it was Stampede Weekend. Very tough to get hotel rooms downtown. Because of another Tripadvisor's comments we went for it. The hotel is easily driven to when coming in from the west. I had phone problems... more
We stayed as a couple after I had surgery at foothills hospital. It is very cool and trendy, modern fixtures and decor. Clean and comfortable but I wouldn't bring my kids here (would ruin the vibe). Enjoyed our stay but not really for us.
We stayed here as a family. I don't think I would do it again. The rooms, the hotel everything is very open concept which is great unless you have a 14 year old with you and any of you want privacy.
It was clean the staff were great it is just not meant to be family friendly I don't think.
Just finished a weekend at the Calgary ALoft with our soccer team and could not be happier with the hotel. Open, airy, funky, and fun design & decor. Large rooms with ample amenities and terrific, attentive staff. Would book again in a flash and the hotel more than accommodated and welcomed our soccer team + families. Nothing beats a new,... more
Stayed here recently for one night, and I was very pleasantly surprised with the hotel/stay (exceeded my expectations)!
This is a recently renovated/remodeled hotel, which is very clean and modern inside.
Definitely the nicest hotel in the area now!
Room is very well sized and appointed. Very new, modern, and practical design.
King size bed was great.

I came to stay here at the last minute. I have previously stayed at Aloft in Minneapolis and when I realised I needed to make other arrangements I felt relieved that Aloft was available. My husband and I are currently staying at aloft for 4 days for a wedding. We asked for a room at the back as suggested. It is clean, quiet and comfortable. Love the bed. We had our 3 daughters visit with their children and their pool area was a good space for us to visit and have pizza. The front... more
I would stay at this location again in a heartbeat. The place is nice, new, friendly. Rooms are clean, comfy and beautifully and simply designed. The indian restaurant had delicious food, the cute indoor small pool was a great place to relax. The bar had a great drink menu, unfortunately closed too early for our liking. There is a 24hr... more
Pros:
I f you want a modern hotel with rooms like I had with big shower space ( so big you could
sleep in and then some ), good shower head ( relaxing, massaging ,powerful water flow ),
flat screen modern TV. with all the perks ( advertising hotel channel, pay per view movies etc.)

Had a great stay. Hotel is new and in great condition. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Parking ground level or underground. Located on a strip of motels and hotels - close to shopping and restaurants. I had a car, not sure what the transit situation would have been like.
Into Calgary to see a show at the Jubilee! From train only 2 stations down from hotel. Great!!
In general, I was happy with this hotel. The room was little small but very clean and parking garage could use some clean up (was messy). Note to front desk: when there are multiple parties waiting, DO wait on your customers in order of arrival, it is extremely RUDE and ANNOYING when you knowingly to assist people out of order. If you are not sure who you should service next, then ask. It is... more
The cool, modern decor is the biggest thing this hotel has going for it. It was also very clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant and bar here were also great. My only complaint is that I was on the first floor and the parking lot was just outside my window, so I couldn't open the curtains to let the light in without everyone outside being able to casually look into my room... more
Love the Aloft hotel in Calgary. Perfect for a business trip. Only thing missing is a hot tub.
We just loved it. The rate was good. The parking was great. Enjoyed thebar atmosphere . But I must say I was not impressed with your I Dian restaurant. It was a disappointing experience the food was blunt for a Indian cousin!!!! Regretted are lat meal during our stag
It is inconvenient that the hotel has no breakfast.
very comfortable and best nights sleep I have ever had in a hotel, Great underground parking and lots of parking spaces. I would recommend and stay here again, most definitely. Thanks
Wow, I after a very long day of travelling it was so nice to come to this clean fresh and very hip hotel. I should have stayed longer. It was new, clean and refreshing. The longe area so very modern. The lighting very inviting. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The bathroom sink was so nice and deep. The showers were great.
Awesome hotel. Clean and tidy; well kept. It is truly a smoke-free hotel, true to that saying posted on the wall , "no butts about it, aloft is smoke free". Smells crisp and clean. Sparkling white sheets. Colorful wall paints. The 2-queen bed room has 2 sitting lounges. Hirgeous washroom and bath and sink. Impressive. Keep up the great job. Will definitely go back there.
Other than Plumbing fixtures not being complete, ie, toilet bowl not secure, shower head loose, door closer not secure, window blind needs attention. our stay was Okay, no complaints with Hotel Personel.
The hotel is great. The room was very good. The air conditioner on the other hand was loud and blowing hard and couldn't be adjusted or turned off. The fridge made a high pitched whine and got unplugged. Except for that, we enjoyed the modern decor and the staff was very pleasant and nice
Thoroughly enjoyed our (2) stay here. Staff were great--Hotel was very clean as was our room--close to restaurants & fast food outlets--Rapid Transit station is just a 2 minute walk from hotel--Cost of riding the system was only $3.00 per person--Hotel amenities such as bar/lounge & indoor pool were clean & well maintained. Will definitely stay here again on my next trip to Calgary. RW Andrews
Close to downtown; modern retro. Younger crowd so we enjoyed the atmosphere. Felt like one large university dorm.
this hotel was one of the nicest ive ever stayed in. not too far from downtown but not too close. i would recommend to anyone
Great place to stay! the set up sweet. Id recommend here
I rented a hotel room for a fellow co worker for their wedding night. I was very impressed walking through the front doors. Very modern! Very clean and the staff were welcoming and friendly. That's western hospitality!
We stayed at this hotel a few weeks ago and had a fantastic experience. The hotel is modern, very clean and has very comfortable beds. The lounge in the front is awesome to hang out and have a few drinks. The bacon Caesar was fantastic :)
We will definitely be back.
The building and rooms were interesting, clean and comfortable, at minimal cost. The washroom was large and elegant. The comfortable firm bed took up most of the bedroom, and it was just a bit inconvenient to do extensive work in the room. The designers have worked hard to make an appealing community space, which wasn't used as much as it might have been. I think as people get used to how to... more
I travel to Calgary a few times a year. I am always shocked and disappointed in what I get for the money. Imagine my surprise when I found that Aloft had opened a property near downtown and right across from the train station.
Reasonable price. Free parking (in a city that charges more for parking than Manhattan). Great bar/lobby.

I have always stayed at Motel Village on my visits to Calgary, and I was happy to find this new Aloft hotel. The price was good and the service was excellent.
Just off the main drag it is quite and the room was great. I had one of the best sleep ever in a hotel. The staff were efficent and accomodating
This hotel is new, stylish and clean. Value for your money is very high. But the best part of all is the staff, very friendly and go out of there way to assist you. Definitely a fav new Calgary hotel.
If you were to imagine staying in a hotel by IKEA this would be it. It's very hip and the atmosphere is young a vibrant. The hotel staff are fantastic. The breakfast bar is great value and fresh. The room is right out of an IKEA show room. Very Small but comfortable and laid out nicely. Internet speed was lightning... more
Stayed for 1 night and had a great experience. The room was cozy and the staff was very helpful. It was close to the c train. I would stay there everytime.
Nice to have another option for a SPG property in Calgary. This one in on the Hotel Strip off 16th Avenue North/Transcanada Hwy. Not terribly central, but relatively close to downtown.
The staff were very nice and accommodating. They offered to get me into a King size bed if I could wait, but I just wanted to hit the hay,...

Stayed on business. Great location. Easy parking and access to train. Bed very comfy. Stayed on the main floor with no noise issue because it was during the week I'm guessing. Big plus for me is the lack of children running down the halls. Walkin shower was nice but there was some poor drainage issues that caused the water to... more
We arrived on the fourth day this hotel was open. The evening staff were friendly. We were the first people to use this room. I feel confident in saying this as the bathroom did not flush properly. We switched from the c@!%!y Hampton Inn 2 doors down. The evening manager was very pleasant and willing to help us on the rate. Once checked in, they even reserved us a table at a nearby restaurant. This property is pretty consistent with the Aloft brand: sort of a chic dorm feel. First impressions from the outside were a little off as it is stuck between an old Ramada and another old motel type place, but inside shows a very modern hotel. Service was friendly and efficient.

Great hotel, great stay, great price.
I stayed here one night for business. It was so new that 1) the restaurant has not been opened, and 2) the grand opening is next week, lol.

Couldn't believe it. 5 days old and the toilet didn't flush at all, the shower stall leaked all the way to the front door.

we came up to Calgary on short notice and couldn't get a room at the Palliser Hotel. Aloft Hotel was suggested as a new hotel. The hotel had been open for 4 days. Staff is great....renovations...OMFG...terrible...they should not be open at this time. I lodged there one night. The room itself was OK. But there was no heating at 0 C night temperature due to renovation. I got a small inefficient heater instead. The room had a horrible smell so that I had to keep my door open (risking loosing my belongings). I would not lodge there again.
Un-Dellux Breakfast ----------=============---------- Dont worry about the current renovations unless you want to sleep during the day I stayed here for 3 nights and never heard or saw a construction worker. But there is work going on. The other commenters were right though about the internet. it is like 50 people sharing 1 high speed connection so it really sucks most of the times I used it.... more
very bad!!Staff Very Bad,Room Very Bad.Value Very Bad.I DO NOT STAY ANY MORE.
The hotel is feeling the effects of age with no grace. It is rather dilapidated and provides for an uneasy feeling regarding security and safety. I stayed at the hotel for 11 nights while attending a course at the University of Calgary. The location is good as it is just a couple blocks away from the C-Train and only a 5 minute drive to the university. Above ground parking is inadequate for the... more
I called to get a couple's massage. They told us to come early for a steam room and to fill out some forms. We arrived early for the steam room and were not offered the service. Then we were taken to seperate rooms. I informed them that it was a couple's massage. Our massages were supposed to be 60 minutes but only lasted 50. Overall we were very dissapointed with the service.
The room was acceptable, but the internet they offer is very poor. Most of the time you can't connect, or if you do get on, it's difficult to check even email, and this activity may boot you out of their internet system. Not recommended for travelers who need to access corporate email to keep in touch with their office located outside of the country.
The TV in the room is outdated and does not deliver a good quality picture. Also it is too small for the size of the room. However the complimentary breakfast was very good. Nice variety
The king room we had was so small that when you sat at the end of the bed your knees touched the TV. It was very clean, and quite. This was once a motel and all rooms have an interior door and an exterior door. The hallways are very narrow and there was no elevator so if you have any disabilities this is not the hotel for you.Despite being a choice rewards member, the clerk refused to take my... more
We chose this motel because of it's location and from that perspective were not disappointed. We had an appointment at the Foothills hospital and it was in close proximity. I booked this hotel partly because of the pool for my nephew. All of the pics online show this hotel pool with a slide. When we arrived, the pool had no slide. What a letdown.
