I've had brunch here several times and have always been pleased. It is not a fancy spot, but the ambiance is nice and cozy for a lazy Saturday or Sunday brunch. The staff are generally friendly and the only negative is the wait for food can be a bit long at times. My favourites are the spinach and apple salad, and the classic grilled cheese. I definitely recommend trying this little neighbourhood pub if you are looking for a new brunch spot to try in Toronto.
Friendly service combines with better-than-average pub grub and an impressive selection of microbrews (almost entirely Canadian) to make for a popular neighborhood spot. In summer, the gorgeous patio is a bonus. The food isn't exotic, but it's good: The spinach and apple salad is fresh, the Québécois poutine fine with beer drinking, and the steak frites decent. The Rebel House has been doing its thing for over 17 years now. Co-owner, Bruce Roberts, has seen locals come and go, shops open and close, and the neighbourhood grow since he opened up shop with partner David Logan in 1993, but still the Rebel remains strong. Ordered the bison burger and a pasta special -- both were great. Even went for dessert with a bread pudding and chocolate banana cheesecake. All in all, a cozy place to catch... more
The Rebel House is a local with a great list of beers on tap, and a menu of great lunch specials. Service is friendly, nice patio out back in the summer. A great choice.
Sometimes you just want a pub that has an upstairs with sloped ceilings and a fireplace. How happy I was to come here. Great beer selection, KILLER Snakebites, and really yummy food. And when it gets dark the lighting is low enough to make most people look relatively attractive but not so dark as to blind you.
Service was pretty...

One of the best backyard patios in the city. You just have to check it out. Their new Rebel ChopHouse out Bloorr West is just as fabulous.
Its unpretentious Canadian spirit is reflected in the mainly 20-30-something crowd that frequents this popular Rosedale haunt. Although there is an outstanding back patio with parachute roof, seating is limited. If you’re lucky enough to score a seat, sample the numerous offerings from Ontario’s micro-breweries, the hearty, simple fare or the weekend brunch menu.
