We're the perfect blend of old and new; a classic- remixed. Rae and Jerry's character has been built for nearly sixty years and there's a reason people still crowd our nostalgic dining room and iconic lounge. We're kind of famous for that.

My wife and I lived in Wpg approx. 35 yrs ago when R&J was the gold standard of fine dining in the city - it was a special place for special family events. My husband and I were visiting my family in Winnipeg for the first time. I lived there almost 30 years ago and was telling my husband that when I was a child, my father would take us to Rae and Jerry's as a special treat. The service was excellent and the steak was very good! Also really enjoyed the tomato juice (this is a Canadian tradition I guess?) and the calamari appetizer. Retro restaurant, stone-age service. I was the invisible guy in the corner tonight while the waitress flirted with the men on the patio. It's a shame too because I was meeting my wife and some out-of-town visitors here for dinner but when I saw how slow the service was in the lounge, I phoned them to meet me elsewhere. This is a traditional steak house, circa 1950. Prime rib, steaks and seafood are served with steaming baked potatoes and fresh salads. A children's menu makes this a great spot for the whole family.
