"Perfect for dinner out with friends" or a "leisurely midday meal", this Point Grey spot delivers with "excellent" French-Mediterranean fare, starting with the "mouth-watering" antipasti; "sunny, comfortable" digs make it a "calm oasis", while "professional" service "with a smile" and "decent prices" further ensure it's a "fabulous neighbourhood hangout."

Locals pack this Point Grey locale, golden as Charentais melons, that offers haute cuisine without the prices or pretense. The afternoon Grand Thé is a treat; at dinner it's hard to move beyond those intensely flavoured antipasti (but do, and try the prawn Provençal, $27). The lemon tart ($8) is a city classic. Chef Essex Balace extracts every ounce of flavour from fresh, simple ingredients and... more

Great food but poor service

We had not been to the restaurant in a few years and really liked the renovations. The food was better than our last visit. Unfortuantely, the server we had clearly did not want to be there. It was a long weekend (BC Day), a little warm in the restaurant (but still comfortable) and I think the individual just wanted to be elsewhere. Not only did the server not verbally outline the daily... more

My second time dining here. Food was excellent! I had the pink squid prawn resoto - yummy! Would highly recommend this restaurant. The only drawback is when it's full it's too noisy. But the food and service make up for it!

Provence Mediterranean Grill is truly a neighborhood gem! From the minute we entered the restaurant and were greeted with smiles, we knew we were in for a good dining experience. Everything on the menu looked appetizing which made it difficult to choose. The bouillabaisse is outstanding and creme brulee is to die for! I know we'll be returning soon.

Great food, but can be pricy at times. Overall a very enjoyable evening.

Went for a bite in the middle of the afternoon. Beautiful place. Ambiance was not an issue since we were alone in the place. Very nice staff, good looking and well dressed. And the food was soooo good. My taste buds still dream of the fish soup.

This popular bistro boasts the best casual lunches in the city. The menu features Mediterranean-French cuisine made fresh with local vegetables and fish. Start with warm goat cheese crusted with herbs and served on organic greens and cold gazpacho. Entrees include pissaladiere, curried eggplant, artichokes and squid, and roasted tomato with bocconcini. Pre-packaged picnics complete with a... more
