Excellent crabe des neiges et bourgots, fruits de mer toujours frais et bon ration qualité-prix, imbattables à Montréal! Bref, c'est mon avis et je le partage !

So happy I found this place! It was by chance as I was driving by on the way to Chinatown so I decided to stop in. There are lots of seafood shops in Montreal, most of them I believe above average but I'd concur this is one of the best. I had just come back from a trip up in Matane, I have a fave place up there to compare to but selection and pricing at La Mer is quite exceptional.

Fantastic selection of fresh fish. I normally buy my fish in mile end, but realize this is likely the source of most fish in Montreal. Lots if variety to pick from with a grocery to compliment the seafood selection. Very friendly staff. A must for seafood lovers who like to cook at home.

Lovely people, tasty underwater friends, good prices, condiments and other stuffs.
The formula for awesome.
P.S. I just stuffed my face with Kumamoto oysters...I'm mega sad they're all gone...I see another trip to La Mer in the near future.

In 1968 the Katsoulis family opened their first fish market in the city´s west end. The business flourished into a wholesale and distribution and by 1976 the family needed a location to expand its business.
At the foot of the Jacques Cartier bridge, they found an old building previously owned by Gatehouse.
