The food is on the low end of pub food, and the beer selection limited but the Pit Pub is part of the UBC student's life. Back when I went to UBC it was one of the only alternatives to the monopoly some food services company had on all 3 or 4 of the campus cafeterias (which is not the case now), but I would only eat the burgers.
