Another filthy, exploitative London pet store...

I'm a herpetoculturist and educator with over 20 years of experience and have found that Pet Paradise is a stain upon the reptile/amphibian/invertebrate hobby in particular and the pet community at large. While their fish department is quite acceptable, all other areas are grossly substandard. The overpriced puppy & kitten mill offerings are too closely confined and consistently unhygienic and odoriferous. In fact, the resultant smell tends to permeate throughout the store and, despite presumed daily mopping, the entire establishment consistently seems old, dusty, dirty, untidy and disorganized. in the 'reptile area', animals are typically housed and maintained inadequately and, despite the ready availability of quality captive-bred animals, wild-caught specimens loaded with pathogens are routinely sold at highly elevated prices to an unsuspecting public. If this weren't enough, London animal ordinances are routinely ignored and illegal animals are regularly displayed and sold to both wise and unwitting customers. To add insult to injury, the owner, Margaret, seems far more concerned with profit than she is the well-being of these 'lesser' animals while in her tender, or that of her customers. Furthermore, her arrogance, and that of her employee, Andrew ("in charge" of the 'reptile area') is repugnant and only confirms the contempt they hold for both their charges and their customers (potential or otherwise).

Pet Paradise is one of only 2 pet stores in the City of London that regularly house and offer a notable selection of reptiles, amphibians and arachnids and, sadly, both are profoundly shameful...
