I really like this place. It has a rather extensive menu and everything I have tried so far has been delicious. The ambiance of the place is also just right and the staff is very polite and courteous.
Went in here, not expecting too much - and were pleasantly surprised. The place is A-OK - and I'd go back for beer, conversation with friends and pub grub.
Decor is what you'd expect for an irish pub. Our server was pleasant and the place had an overall good vibe.
Would I return: Yes
Would I recommend: For a beer and conversation in the market area, yes.
First time in Ottawa, and was in the Byward Market area. I was greeted by a hostess and I guess since I was with two females, they didn't charge cover because everyone else was being charged.
Food was pretty good, but the drinks are crazy expensive in my opinion. Maybe I'm just comparing it to back home in the states, but a pitcher of some trash (less than 5 percent abv) craft beer was like...

Incredibly rude service! Both the bouncer and the woman taking cover were extremely rude. I get that it's the standard for the Market for bars to take cover, but there's no need to be incredibly rude. Once we got inside, it was very hard to get a drink from the bar. The food menu runs the gamut, from fish and chips to elegant salads to rack of lamb. There are a couple dozen draught beers, plus a bunch of bottles, so you should easily find something to your liking.
