Pangaea is the acclaimed Yorkville restaurant named after the super continent that existed on earth 250 million years ago before the continental plates separated to form the land masses we now see on world maps. Pangaea is a place where international inspiration and regional ingredients come together to form a unique and wonderful dining concept.
"Innovative" Continental-Eclectic plates spotlighting "seasonal ingredients" please "well-heeled" patrons at this "top-notch" Bloor-Yorkviller in a "modern" space with mission-style furniture and maple floors; "pleasant, attentive" servers "make guests feel most comfortable", so though it's "rather expensive", it's a "favourite."
Living up to its name, Pangaea harmonizes global-inspired cuisine with local ingredients. A long skylight by the bar and private dining rooms give the loft an ethereal quality, but even the decor has a regional connection in Toronto-made chairs. The menu concentrates on sustainable seafood. Curried mussels stimulates set the stage for refined entrees like pan-roasted duck breast with rösti... more

Open for 15 years, the restaurant's chef/co-owner team of Martin Kouprie and Peter Geary deliver consistent elegance with fine food, attentive service, and a stellar cellar. The tone of the place is muted, even... more

We called the restaurant at 11:20 (they open at 11:30 am) saying we were pressed for time and they let us in and seated us promptly (we had no reservations of course). My wife is vegetarian so they put together a... more
This is a great place to eat. The presentation could be worked on a little. The food most of the time has a good collaboration of flavours, but sometimes they're a little off on certain dishes. The fish is delicious here, with a nice blend of veggies and delicious sauces.
I enjoy most the 1$ oysters on Wednesday and Thursday's !! And btw it is easy to park to eat here too.
Food was good but weird....they took my credit card to charge it instead bringing the mobile reader, that they used at the adjacent table, they took my cc and charged it then brought it back.. I didn't like that at all. Service was okay but had to constantly ask for water service which was a but tedious . MIght give it another try
