Toronto Seniors Forum celebrated "Seniors Living in Diversity" June 9th on Nathan Phillips Square with Mayor David Miller in attendance It was a celebration of ethnic groups all seniors performing
One of the highlights was Cake Palermo Bakery on St Clair Ave W, made a fantastic cake( 5 in all) the cake was light, cream filled decorated beautifully the filling and icing was superb, not overtly sweet, as a retired Chef this cake
was great, and enjoyed by the many seniors in attendance

Got a decent sandwich (not great by any stretch) for just over $3.00. If you are hungry and standing at say Oakwood and St. Clair contemplating your options, you could do worse.
Plain, clean, non fancy real neighbourhood place, run by lovely lady, Lucia. The hot sandwiches made with their recently baked bread, coldcuts and cheese, are terrific. All the food is good, and it's a steal. Nice, low key place to have coffee and a portuguese tart or a turnover.
We go here almost every day for coffee and bread, and end up getting pastry and sandwiches as well. I've been eating Portuguese custard tarts all over the west end, and I think Palermo's are some of the best in city. They've mastered the crunchy crust that is key to the custard tart experience.
