Sorry Excuse for a SPA!
I will admit up front, I am not a frequent SPA go-er. I have gone to a local SPA for Pedicures and I highly reccommend them - SPYCE SPA. I know now what a Gem they are...My Sister-in-law who is a bit of a penny pincher suggested NV SPA for laser treatment to get rid of a few stubborn hairs on my chin. I have never had any kind of hair removal before. So I purchased a Wagjag special for 3 sessions. I called to book an appointment, did not receive a call back, 3 days later I called again leaving a message that this had been my second call, 2 days later I received a call back, and was able to book an appointment. I showed up at the scheduled time and was asked to complete forms ( as new clients are asked to do). The office was full of clients waiting, the staff were banging into each other behind the reception desk not getting any direction. I was observing everything. I handed in my completed paperwork and sat back waiting for my name to be called. A few others were called in, I finally went back up to the desk to ask if they needed anything else when the receptionist said she could not find my paperwork, the paperwork I had just given her. I was confused and wondered what kind of professional SPA this was. She finally found it and laughed, oh I found it...after a 20 min wait I was called in, the process of laser was not explained to me, I was given glasses to wear and asked to lie down on the table. The machine was not wiped down, neither was the area of my face that was to be lasered. Isn't it supposed be??So... top lip she said with laser in her hand, no.. I said left and right side of chin. oh ya ya she said, used the laser on that area of my chin for about 1 min, then said you are all done, you have to wait 4 weeks to book your next appointment. I was also told that the average treatment is 6 sessions, and that they would sell me another 3 sessions for the same price that I bought the coupon from Wagjag for, I agreed. Am I sorry, you bet....That was the middle of November, I left messages in December, but, of course no one called me back. I called the second week of January and someone answered, the distraction shown on the phone was so very unprofessional, she asked me what I wanted, by saying, what do you want - literally, then had to ask my name 3 times, insisting that I was not in their computer system. When I spelled my first name, she then was able to find me, common name no unusual spelling..when do you want to come in she asked, your next available 5pm slot please I asked her, ok 7pm next Tuesday she responded...so frustrated I had to ask again for 5pm. Fine she booked me in. I went to my second appointment yesterday, equally disappointing..I signed in, and sat down. She asked me to fill out forms because this was my first time there. I really could not believe this...no I said this is my second time here. Well you didn't sign in she said, yes I did, please check,oh well I didn't see your name there. I watched and listened to the phone ring without getting answered, the SPA staff were more worried about the snow storm outside then the clients waiting inside..I was called in after a short wait, different Staff member this time, she wiped the machine and double checked the area to be lasered. The session was less than 2 minues again, which I can only assume is normal. I was escorted out to reception by the SPA staff member, I thanked her then waited at the front desk to book another appointment, for at least 15 min while the receptionist tried to charge a client for their services, using debit machine. Tried and tried finally got the charge to process. All the while paying more attention to the SPA Staff behind her, than the clients in front of her. The receptionist then said, do we have your paperwork? I thought my head was going to explode, I don't have any paperwork, this is my second session!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well do you want to book an appointment or something...she asked..yes I said, and was able to book 4 weeks out...I cannot, CANNOT believe that people actually return for the services here. The receptionist should be running the show, greeting everyone by name, checking in with them while they are waiting, and have the SPA staff ready to go...unorganized, unprofessional, I can't actually say they are unfriendly, they just don't talk to you at all....cannot believe this person could actually be hired as a receptionist period!! They are not doing themselves any favours by keeping her there...I have 4 sessions left, and to tell you the truth the only reason I am going to use them, is, I will not let them get something from me at no cost to them. I am so sure the lasting laser treatment will be unsatisfactory also...I think the only way they are open at all is because of the wagjag deals they offer continually, new clients purchase them, and after the first session, never return. Also everyone should know they are not registered with the Better Business Bureau...hmm I wonder why...If you use this SPA and enjoy it then that is great for you, I never ever leave negative reviews, in fact this is my first one...I was so dissappointed in the service I just had to do this. If Staff Members of NV SPA in Barrie read this, please get rid of your receptionist, and watch your business grow into something wonderful...yes one person can make all of the difference...

I really do not understand the negative reviews. Perhaps it is unless people have bad to say they don't post. The staff are friendly and professional and treat their customers like family.
I have been going to this spa for about 2 years now and have tried a number of their services, most recently the laser hair removal. I have had 2 sessions on my lower legs and have noticed a huge differance. I also do photofacial, microderm and facials. Not only does my skin look great but it is great timeout in a hectic life. Prices are reasonable with frequent specials.
Cindy runs a professional, restful spa and does not overbook. I can't wait to back for my next appointment!

I initially purchased a wagjag deal for 6 laser hair removal sessions (1 body part) and after the first few sessions I was told it would take 6-8 sessions so I purchased another wagjag deal that offered unlimited laser hair removal (for one year) on three body parts.
The Barrie location has the worst customer service I have ever experienced! They never answer their phones, are always overbooked and are just plain unfriendly and unprofessional. There were numerous times that I was there waiting for at least half an hour after my scheduled appointment time and a couple of times the machine they were using quit working in the middle of the session.
The first couple of times I was there, the technician would leave the room while I undressed and gave me a small sheet for privacy - after the first couple of times, the technician just stayed in the room offering no privacy whatsoever.
After I attended for approximately 6 sessions they decided I needed to pay the tax on the services - apparently this wasn't included in the wagjag price. I don't understand how they did not mention this in the beginning.
I was getting my bikini line done with both deals - so, I total of 18 sessions. Some technicians considered it a French, some referred to it as a bikini line (it was more than a bikini but probably less than a typical French). After about the 13th session, the technician that was providing my service that day refused to do any of the area inside my underwear line (I was wearing boy shorts!). I explained to her that I had numerous sessions and all previous technicians covered a much larger area. She told me she could not do it and she could lose her job if she did because a bikini line was one body area, French counted as two body areas and a brazilian counted as three body areas. I explained to her that I was certain that the wagjag coupon indicated that all these options (bikini, French, Brazilian) all counted as one body area. She argued with me and flat out refused to do it. When I got home, I printed off my coupon and as I had explained, all bikini areas counted as 1 body area. And, I later found out that that technician was actually the manager. I brought my coupon the next time I went and they now do the full area but there was no apology.
Even though the wagjag says the service is unlimited for one year, you can only go every 4 weeks (minimum) and there was one occassion where I could not get an appointment for a full month so I missed out on one session - I can't understand how they were fully booked a month in advance?!
Here's the worst part - I have now had 15 sessions on my bikini area and while the hair growth is less it still grows almost as much as it did before I started the sessions. I have had 9 sessions on my upper and lower leg and I have noticed absolutely no change! I am convinced that the laser machine is set at the lowest setting so that you have to keep purchasing packages. They are always trying to get you to buy more services while they are offering the current service.
Someone (I am considering it) needs to contact the Better Business Bureau on this agency! Please do not waste your money and time at this Spa. Spend the extra money and go somewhere where you will get the results you paid for!
