Some of my friends were in town and we stopped in for a beer and some food. My friend had wanted fish and chips all day and the Madhatter had a special the day we went! Very happy to have found it. Would go back for the special $1 daquiri night.
This place is relatively cheap in terms of drinks. It's a fairly fun ambience with the popcorn machine and jenga. They play pretty solid music as well. The bartenders are hot or miss in terms of service. Sometimes there's a bit of a wait to get in and nowhere to sit but you win some, you lose some.
Food is okay. It's decent and if you're drunk, you'll probably love it. I however was sober and we just wanted cheap food for an easy dinner out, and it wasn't great. The Paris Poutine had way too much heavy Hollandaise sauce and my friend's Homer Burger was interesting but pretty small and greasy. The cauliflower "wings" were good but there were literally only 5 in the serving.

Didn't try of their food, but I did notice they had a $5 menu. Had a couple of beers at the bar while listening to no scrubs from TLC in the back ground ( I still have the hook in my head "A scrub is a guy that can't get no love from me
Hangin' out the passenger side of his best friend's ride Trying to holla at me) Overal a chill atmosphere and they also have a pool table at the back.

For one thing they have a great rooftop terrace (absent from the vast majority of true dives). They also have an actual theme – Alice in Wonderland – which is trippy and fun. Then there's the beer selection and the prices: about 20 beers on tap, at starving-artist-friendly... plus
