Worst Experience Everrr
We went today to Lobster Pound Restaurant and it was a the WORST experience in my whole life.
First, the server was so rude once she saw me coming in with a baby. She just walked me to the table without smiling for even saying Hi.
Second, after 2 min the chef came with a KNIFE in his hand and told us in a very rude and aggressive way: "Baby has to be quite (with a knife gesture symboling silence) or you have to leave!"
I went to him and asked is this not a kids friendly restaurant and he said NO, it's just for adults it is always a quite environment here.
What a difference!
A few years ago I went to the Lobster Pound restaurant in North Sydney, and found it to be "adequate". Certainly nothing to make me become a regular customer...but it seems that there are new owners there now, and they are doing everything RIGHT. The food is fresh, hot and delicious, the service is exemplary, and the prices are reasonable.
I will now be a regular there. Superb! (try the calamari, it's unbelievable)
Excellent and unique in Cape Breton
After seven visits, four with friends from other parts of Nova Scotia, all of us say the food is excellent with fine touches not found anywhere else in Cape Breton. Prices are excellent. Staff very good and friendly. It is now on our "must do often" list.

Hurray for halibut
April 18, 2014We had a group dinner here tonight and we couldn't have been happier. The halibut was one of the best I've ever had. Just wish we'd been here for lobster season because I know it would have been out of this world

Lobster wontons to die for
April 14, 2014just came from a 3 hour lunch....and the staff are sooo fabulous ...you want to invite them to sit at your table when it quiets down for a good Cape Breton gab session!!!....and they do!!! if you want one of Ritchie's (the owner and chef) signature dishes...get the lobster wontons....they are like a flavor burst to your taste buds!!!...The dish... more

Good meals
March 04, 2014This harbour side Restaurant has Chef with nice specials. The lobster in season is fantastic along with it's sea food. You will not be disapointed.
