La Terrazza is superb! The restaurant takes on a modern feel of northern and central Italian cuisine by serving up some fantastic new ideas while giving traditional Italian hospitality. The decor is tastefully done with French influence and the seating layout is spacious yet cozy. The establishment is very clean as are the washrooms. But of course, you come here for the dinner. The calamari was definitely a new twist on the normal Meditarranean style calamari. Simple yet delicious. The carpaccio was some of the best in Vancouver. The lamb was bursting with flavour, the meat being so tender and moist. The bison was the best bison you can have anywhere west of Winnipeg, which of course must be ordered medium rare. The flavours of the dinners are not complicated by different tastes that bombard you from opposite directions. The flavours all come in unison and remain on your palette until subtley moving on. This is truly a fantastic dinner experience. The wine list is extensive. The service is quick and attentive, and never at one point we were disappointed. This is a newer style Italian restaurant that must be visited to be truly appreciated.
A big, busy, mainstream Italian room that draws tourists and all manner of locals adept at tossing Porsche keys to the valet. Inside, a comfortable, well-appointed bar serves as a cosy way station en route to dinner. Executive chef Gennaro Iorio, wine expert Giulio Miceli, and front man Iqbal Grewal run a well-choreographed operation perfectly suited to Yaletown. Strozzapretti bolognese... more
Started by ordering a bottle of wine from the rather large wine list. Took 10 minutes for the server to come back and say that they were out of the first bottle. Ordered a different bottle. 10 minutes later the server came back with a bottle, but I noticed the vintage was 07 instead of 06. He then said they just bumped up the vintage when out of the ordered. A heads up instead of me catching... more
We were celebrating a couple of birthdays that night and we had mentioned it in our reservation and also again when we were on our way to the restaurant. Unfortunately there was no mention of it from our server and when dessert was served we were hoping there would be some acknowledgement of it....but nothing. Other than that, it was still a very wonderful evening, great ambience, large... more
My husband and I came here for the first time. Our server Luigi was amazing, friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. He appeared to be the only person working in the entire restaurant but handled it like a pro!!! The wine list was full of choices at various price levels. The food choices were also varied. I had fresh spinach ravioli in a tomato cream sauce and mu husband had chicken. Both tasted... more
Reasonable food, limited menu. Recommend pork loin. Steak special was good as well. Avoid the garlic chicken. Service was a bit slow but staff were pleasant.
one of a kind dining experience, all the food is fresh, wine selection is incredible, intimate atmosphere, and the mushroom & asparagus w/ angel hair is to die for.
"This restaurant's setting resembles a traditional ristorante, complete with Romanesque columns and large windows. Diners here can see how fine Italian cuisine is prepared. Outside, there's a garden patio with wrought-iron furniture and a fountain. Appetizers include everything from seasonal raw oysters (CAD13.88 per half dozen) to an imaginative Oven-Baked Figs stuffed with gorgonzola,... more
