The Japanese konbini (or shorthand for convenience store) is a marvel in and of itself. If you’ve ever been to Japan, you’ll know what I’m talking about. The roommate and I just bumped into Konbiniya while walking up and down Robson on Saturday, January 16th. I love Japanese stores so we decided to see if they had items we couldn't get in the US. I have a fondness for snacks and the roommate, curry, so we walked out with a bunch of items.

Came in to get out of the cold and grab a cup of tea when I saw their Strawberry Shortcake. So I had to have one (it's one of my favorite cakes). The overall cake was well balanced, not overly sweet, and had a great mouth feel. The only complaint was that the cake was not super moist so the cake became a little grainy as you chewed.

Walking down Robson st at night and I come upon a Japanese store.

yup, I had to check it out and get me some Japanese candy!!!

Prices were cheap and they stay open til I believe 2am.

Parking is along the street and I figure during the day time, might be a pain.
Some snacks, drinks, foods, manga, cooking supplies. It's a small convenient store basically.
