Fries have a weird bitter taste

Service is hit and miss sometimes, I've had great service and bad service.
Fries have a weird bitter after taste to them, maybe the oil used to fry the fries are bad? At first I thought it was a one off occurrence but I've gone several times and the fries have always had this weird taste.
