Doing a good job.
The art gallery does a good job of providing a balanced array of services - the main exhibit, the smaller window exhibit, the classes and lecture series, and the little gift shop. Lately, the gift shop has seemed more commercial and less local and interesting though.

This is the only public art museum in the Thompson region and the largest in the province's interior, with a collection of more than 1,200 works by Canadian artists. The gallery also mounts changing exhibits of international works.

Very modern and great art, specially native art this time
September 13, 2013It is centrally located, Thursdays are free. The day we went the presentation was on native art, music as well. Interesting to learn more about the culture and art of the local native people.

Interesting albeit small
May 07, 2013I like how they say it is the largest in the area. It's not large at all but the space is put to good use. The price of admission also included an umbrella - sweet deal! The exhibit when I viewed was by Germaine Koh, I think an industrial engineer, with interactive exhibits related to weather. I found the falling... more

The Kamloops Art Gallery, opened in 1978, is one of the many art galleries in Canada showcasing and promoting regional and contemporary art. It's prime focus is the promotion of art in the society.
