Very Rude Customer Service

I've been to Hoopdome a few times and after my last experience I will never return. I arrived there with a friend and we were just checkin out the courts because they were all full of intramural games and we were there for pickup. The guy behind the counter rudely yells at us to " make up our f'in minds ", we asked him if the courts would all be taken by the league games and he said yes with the exception of the c@!%!y caged baskets with the uneven floors and tight spacing.

We decided to go in anyway and asked the guy rudely tells us that if we're going to stay to "hurry the f up, because he's busy". At this point I was like WTF, is this guy serious? and I told him that was not the proper way to talk to customers. He then tells us that he's the owner and yells at us to leave and never come back, and even asks for my name.

His face was all red and he was very visibly angry almost to the point of getting violent. We decide to leave at this point and never return, later on I do some research on this guy and his name is Ted Radner and he is indeed the president of Hoopsdome and a basketball coach, extermely rude and disprespectful person.

Other than that, the place still has many problems. The other people workin there are almost just as bad, no smiles, thank you's. Just deadpan faces and rude, flippant attitudes. It's almost like they are doing you a favor just by letting you in.

The ventilation is very bad, horrible air quality, no air conditioning so in the summer it's incredibly hot & humid, the floors are dangerously slippery, the changeroom is actually just a small dirty washroom with no shower and 1 sink, and theres this foul odour throughout the whole facility. Also, they give their house league and intramural games favourable treatment, they always take up all the courts so if you want to play pickup, forget it.

Decent basketball courts - terrible service!

I have been to Hoopdome many times with my sons and their friends. Although the courts are good, I have consistently received subpar service - even to the point of rudeness. I hesitate to return to Hoopdome as it seems they do not want my business. For example: a few days ago my son and 3 friends (aged 16 and 15) were dropped off at Hoopdome by a parent who did not accompany them inside (normally no big deal). They were asked for ID in order to receive the "under 18" admission price. 2 of the boys had temporary driver's licenses and 2 produced school ID cards indicating they were in Grade 10 (they are not old enough to have drivers' licenses). Apparently the two 15 year olds (who do NOT look like they are 18) were denied student admission and paid full fare. Strange ... but very consistent with the treatement I (and many of my friends) have received over the last couple of years. I would not recommend this place for free play or a birthday party.
