Gentille Aloue was a welcome stop in Gastown. The window displays drew me into the store and the shopkeeper Eliza, made it more of a visit with a friend, rather than actual shopping. The clothes in this shop are more wearable art than wearable. There certainly are some interesting pieces to look at, like the shawls and shrugs knitted up in a huge gauge (said the woman in the shop, "I like the instant gratification.") This is definitely a boutique for textile aficionados with money to burn.
