Poor Food and Service

My party and I had visite Gargoyles Grille in the trendy Kitsilano area on a Friday night. The ambience was great, with lots of people, great music and a overall casual atmosphere. When it came down to the food and the service, it was a great disappointment. Although there were plenty of servers for the patrons, our server walked by us numerous times without acknowledging our presence. We had to flag her down at the cash register before we can even get our menus. Our drinks took far too long to arrive, and having a background as a bartender in Toronto I would say that I was disappointed that the simple drinks we ordered were not even close to be accurate. The food arrived very late, to the point where we had to ask our server numerous times if our appetizers were on their way. Strangely, some of our dishes arrived somewhat cold. This lead me to believe that our server forgot about us. Overall my impression was that this was not a place to get good food or server. If you wish to stop by and simply have a bottled beverage or two and enjoy the atmosphere then there shoudn't be an issue. If you come to actually enjoy a platter or receive real service then there are many hot spots around Vancouver to go to, skip this one.
