yummy

I recently went to Foxley with a friend of mine and we had the most deliciosu meal with wonderful fresh flavours. The plates are small which make them perfect for sharing. I highly recommend the duck.

"Tremendously creative" chef Tom Thai turns out the "best ceviche in town" alongside other "well-spiced, innovative" Asian "tastes" with a heavy Pan-Latin accent at this "trendy" Ossington eatery; "gracious, friendly" servers work the "always-busy little" space where a no-reservations policy often leads to a "bit of a wait for a table."

It was just 5 years ago that this unpretentious bistro opened on Ossington Avenue, leading a brigade of new eateries to what is now one the city's best strips for good food. Chef/owner Tom Thai, long known as a top sushi chef, creates beautiful small-plate dishes such as plump dumplings, steamed (often sustainable) fish dishes, smoked pork belly, and more. The flavor is fusion: pan-Asian with... more

A mismash of spohisticated foodies and funky, vintage-clad Ossintonnites fill the 30 seat capacity well before 7pm on weeknights. Vibe is unassumingly seductive. An exposed brick wall, light raggae music and minimal decor from the filled vase to the palm trees makes you feel like you're on vacation. I've been to this restaurant several times over the years. It has always been a staple in my choice of restaurants in the downtown core. The food is reliable, creative, fresh and tasty. The atmosphere is casual and I think it's quite reasonable. The chef has opened a number of restaurants in the downtown area over the years. I've been a fan of all of them.

Vietnamese fusion? I wasn't so sure about that since I'm Vietnamese and fusion restaurants rarely live up to the hype. Foxley is basically a small bar turned restaurant with a hip vibe. The tables are small, so not good for groups.

The blue crab avocado dish had all the right flavours and textures.
It was fresh yet had all the exotic Vietnamese flavours (including fish sauce). This is... more

Had dinner here Saturday night with my boyfriend. We had several plates and had some cocktails followed by wine. Overall a good experience in terms of food and service, but nothing really remarkable that would make us return soon.

We had the following dishes:
Crab and avocado salad - delicious
Kale salad - delicious
Beef short ribs - good
Pork ribs - ok
Special fish of the night - good
Fried... more

Elegant yet inviting neighbourhood bistro. Chef-owner Tom Thai prepares an ever-changing set of dishes that feature pan-Asian ingredients with Latin American and Mediterranean preparations, served tapas-style for easy grazing and sharing. Offerings may include sea bream ceviche with yuzu and shiso leaf, spice- and tea-smoked quail with green papaya, or oven-steamed Pacific halibut with shiitake... more
