Alert! The worst customer service ever

I went travelling for 3 month and applied to freeze the account. As my bank sent me a new master card, 3-month payment failed to go through. Fitcity gave me three letters, threatening to sue, knowing that I was not in the country (written on the freezing account form and told the front desk) and there was no way for me to notice the problem(they don’t have e-mail reminder). They claim I should pay 15 dollars fine for 30 dollars account each month, thus 60 dollars for 4 month. (50% interest?)I called Customer Service the first thing when I noticed the problem. Every phone call goes to voice message. They didn't replay until the next day, tried once and stopped calling. With no way to contact them immediately, I went to the Richmond Fitcity. The manager was REALLY rude. She implied that I lied about everything, keeping saying, "it makes no sense" "everything here is your own responsibility". She even lied about the fine. She said it was not their company but the bank charged the fine. I went straight to the bank and the staff told me her words actually makes no sense! I called her again and she replied with only “ok” (with the tone “Yeah, so what?”)
I called the customer service again and someone from head office replied the next day. With a very cold voice (at least not claiming the customer was making no sense, I guess she was trying to be polite?) She admitted that their company charges the fine and said she didn’t not know why the manager said that the bank was involved. She insisted I had to pay all the fine and said no staff had to remind me anything even they knew there was going to be a problem. “It is customer’s responsibility to read everything on the agreement.”
Of course. No e-mail reminder service is customer’s responsibility. No efficent customer service is customer’s responsibility. And charging 15 dollars fine for 30 dollars account is again customer’s responsibilty.
One thing I do consider my responsibility is to remind everyone who is considering joining Fitcity. However friendly the consultant and manager seem to be at first, you always have to read the agreement very carfully for hiden tricks. Never think of trusting the customer service of Fitcity, you are always on your own with Fitcity!!!
