If you are planning an August vacation on Vancouver island, I recommend going to the Filberg festival on the long weekend. Two music stages, top local artisans selling their wares, good food. The site is a well preserved rich family farm from the 19th. century including amazing house, meticulously kept grounds and original animal enclosures. Great fun for everyone.
Beautiful park overlooking Comox Bay. Picnic places. Large grassed areas used for festivals, music and art. Lot of heritage buildings, deer and a creek. Very peaceful place. Lots of benches to sit on.
A wonderful place to sit, read, or enjoy the view. The original owner was a logging magnate, who collected and preserved tree species from around the world. The trees and gardens are elegantly laid out, and the flowers are spectacular. Unfortunately the lovely home was under renovation when we were there, so we could only peek through windows.
