Excellent service, average room

I've always had an excellent impression of the Royal York as a place of grandeur and exceptional service. Service met expectations. The rooms and venue was slightly better than average but not exceptional as I'd expected. Beds and pillows are excellent on the renovated floors (new beds & linens maybe?). Location is excellent (above train station, indoor walkway to major shopping centres), plenty of options for food. Would return here for the convenience and service.

Great Hotel

The Queen Elizabeth is a great hotel in the center of town. It's across the street from the metro (above all of the shops) and a short walk from the Cathedral and park.

They have updated many of their offerings and rooms - all in going with their new owners the Accord Hotels. We like the changes they have made - notably on the first floor. While there used to be a fancy restaurant that had a tasting menu, they now have a much more nouvelle Whole Foods kind of place called Marché Artisans.
