Just Gorgeous

Marble floor to ceiling when you walk in. Fantastic rooms and the view to the Laurier river is tops.

On the spur of the moment my aunt and I dropped in to Fairmont Château Laurier for afternoon tea. Due to the late time of day tea ended up being drinks & dessert, which was not displeasing : ) As one would expect, the service was impeccable, the drinks were inventive and fresh and dessert decadent. Next time I will plan ahead and make reservations.

We have visited Ottawa many times as a day excursion from our yearly vacations in Perth, about a hour's away. We've certainly been impressed with the hotel's architecture and had visited with friends staying there many years ago, so the Chateau was a natural choice for a long weekend.

I wish all the rooms had king beds, but other than that, I have nothing but love for this hotel.
