Daya spa – friendly staff and fantastic spa services
A few weeks ago I stumbled upon daya spa, a little gem in the byward market area of Ottawa. I booked a manicure and pedicure on impulse and was so happy with the service I received! The spa’s staff is friendly and it’s atmosphere is relaxed yet professional. The scrubs and creams used on my hands and feet smelled delicious! The therapist who did my services said that the products were an all organic line called Eminence. The line was new to me but the esthetician knew so much about organic skin care and the products themselves that it compelled me to book in for a facial. Well, I have never had such a great facial in my life! The products smelled absolutely amazing, the massage was fantastic and the results were stunning! I was literally glowing when I walked out of the room! Over the last few days everyone I see has been telling me how great I look and asking what I am doing differently with my skin! I definitely recommend this spa for anyone and everyone.
earthy atmosphere with friendly upbeat staff
This organic spa knows its stuff! Eminence Organic Skin Care and Massages only with RMTS...the best facial I have ever had in my life! I would recommend this spa to everyone, I trust their spa therapists with my face once a month and I top it off with a massage...currently I am having the LED treatments too and my skin has never looked better! This spa is immaculately clean, you can go bare foot and not worry, or borrow a pair of flip flops if you like. My favorite place to go. Down to Earth unpretentious...lovely.
Inexperienced/Unprofessional Service
I was at the Daya Spa for the first time to try it out. I had a 90 min hot stone massage done. I was not at all please with the entire experience there. There was one particular girl (thin, brown hair, non-esthetician at front) there who goes around talking to everyone when they come in. I found her to be very rude and unprofessional to say the least. I also found the amount of loud noise while having my massage to be excessive. The staff there would walk back and fourth outside the room very heavily and you can hear the floor shaking while in your massage room. We were told to take off our shoes so that we don't walk heavily and dirty the floor which is normal at a spa. The only problem to that rule is that the staff themselves had their shoes on!!! This made it uncomfortable for clients who are trying to relax in their rooms because the stomping while marching across back and fourth is loud and annoying while you are at a "spa" trying to RELAX!!! The girl whom I had for my massage was clearly a beginner which I had no problem with but they should at least tell me ahead of time so that I know not to book it with her to begin with. I didn't feel that she really knew what she was doing the entire massage. I didn't feel relaxed nor did I feel that the 90 mins was worth while for the price since the level of service I expected from the hot stone massage wasn't there. I have had this type of massage numerous times and I know exactly how much techniques and detail goes into this 90 min massage. I didn't feel that this was the case at all at this place!!! I felt that she made a lot of noise while moving from one end of the room to another which made it really uncomfortable and non-relaxing for me! It was clumpsy, unprofessional and inexperienced! I would never go back there again nor would I recommend a massage to be done there! It's ashamed because the owner herself seemed really friendly and knows what she is doing. She needs new frontdesk staff!
