I did actually get anything done by this guy because when I came in he told me that the work on my shoes would take 2 weeks. It was a simple application of a rubber sole on top of a fine leather sole. I'm pretty convinced that he quoted me 2 weeks because I don't speak French. This seemed to be a sticking point for him.

Brought expensive Italian winter boots to the guy.
One of them was leaking just a little bit.
Explained everything to him. He seems like he is understanding English.
He charged me $32 for that (which is way above any other place) and I agreed.
A week later I come back to pick them up. Guess what - he took the shoes apart completely and then realized he wants more money!!!
