Un resto décevant,reconnu comme étant une des bonnes tables de Montréal. Ce n'est pas ce que cela annonce. Les serveurs malgré l'ancienneté évidente ont dans certains cas a accrocher leurs tabliers. Le service est trop familier pour ce genre d'endroit, on ne connait pas ou respecte pas l'étiquette. La nourriture est décevante pour le prix demandé. Peu de choix, une seule table d'hôte.... plus
Enfin un resto où on peut s'entendre (pas de musique de fond) Si vous n'avez pas le "profil" chic de l'endroit, vous risquez de vous faire suggerer le vin le moins dispendieux. Celà dit, la nouriture est excellente, la table d'hôte est à un prix très raisonnable et le service très attentionné

Entering the restaurant was a strange experience.
Outside, it's Guy-Concordia with its diverse, mostly anglophone, student population, and its mostly Asian or Shawarma restaurants.
But as soon as you enter La mère Michel, everything screams France.

Everything that was placed on the table of Chez la Mère Michel was as close to perfect that I have seen. Even the bread and butter was unique and delicious. The diligent and experienced traditional French waiters (although there only seemed to be two) had extensive knowledge of the menu and served without missing a thing.
