An "unpretentious fling with fine dining" Belgian themed with North African influence.
I was truly impressed with the originality and quality of the drinks, food and ambiance. The fish carpaccio, the lamb with figs and honey and the fine cocktails were all amazing. An unforgettable experience.

I've been to Chambar quite a few times, great place to bring a date or a special someone. The atmosphere is beautiful and the decor is classic chic. The wine menu has a vast selection of great international and local wines. I prefer the beer menu as Stella is by far my favourite beer. The servers can easily recommend a wine to match your entre of choice. At first their dinner menu may seem limited, but know that absolutely everything on their menu is fantastic. I've never been disappointed with their food or dissatisfied with their service. From start to finish this restaurant has it right. Great drinks, wonderful decor, experienced staff and most of all superb food.

"If only it were easier to get in" to this Downtown Belgian brasserie that pairs its "creative" cuisine ("best mussels in town") with a "remarkable variety" of Belgian brews and a "well-curated wine list"; the "hip" staff deftly straddles the line between "casual and classy", and the look is "urban chic" crossed with "bohemian flair", while the bills fall more squarely into the "expensive" zone... more
Belgian-inspired and perpetually packed with hip, youngish locals, Chambar has the feel of a Prohibition-era speakeasy. The dimly lit lounge area, with its exposed-brick walls and dark leather sofas, is a scene unto itself; the bar serves 18 Belgian beers, including the custom-made Chambar Ale, as well as some very creative cocktails (try the Blue Fig—vodka infused with oven-roasted figs and... more
One of Vancouver's favorite restaurants, Chambar occupies an intriguing space in a kind of no man's land on lower Beatty Street between Yaletown and Gastown. Michelin-trained chef Nico Schuermans and his wife, Karri, have worked hard to make the place a success, and plenty of plaudits have come their way. The menu features small and large plates. Smaller choices typically include mussels cooked... more
Never a bad time. Place is really well done from food to ambiance. The service is what really does it.
Very very nice ambiance and great food and service! Had the hunter's burger and it was amazing!!! Will definitely come back again.
We spent 3 days in Vancouver this fall and had found this place mentioned a few times in different articles and thought it'd be worth checking out. We easily made a reservation and sat down to what would be our favorite meal of the trip...we went with the "shareable" approach to maximize tastings and chose items from each section. Striploin, veal-stuffed calamari and scallops led the way,... more
