Looking for a nice place to study quietly? You'd be better off under the 8th ave bridge. This place is disgusting, the bathroom are filthy and stink ...and have needle drop boxes. The computers are over run with strange/drunk/loud/asleep (??) people watching youtube- sometimes without earphones- sometimes laughing to themselves. There is not one designated quiet area- in a library this confuses... more

The staff and librarians are excellent and posses great customer service skills and have an extensive knowledge on literature, and city events. This library saved my life during a spring class I was taking a few months ago in University. I ended up having to sign out about 30 books from them and I was happy to find that almost every book I looked up was there for me. I also had a bit of a heart attack when I had requested to put a transfer on books from this library to one closer to my house, only realizing that I needed the books... more
