Brookfield does not care about animals.
I recently adopted an abandoned animal from a shelter that is not currently a patient of Brookfield but based on the little history we know, she was previously a patient.
I tried calling Brookfield to find out as much history about our animal as possible in order to provide her with proper care.
I confirmed with BF that I am the new owner and have documentation from the city to prove it - which I offered to send BF so that they would give me more information about the animal's history. I informed her that the animal was abandoned by her previous owners and the "Vet" on the phone laughed at me and said she doubted that was the case. However, this is what was confirmed by the animal shelter who had been in contact with neighbours of the dog's old owner.
The staff member (unidentified but indicated as a vet) was extremely rude and resistant to help.
If they really cared about the animals, wouldn't they want to help as much as possible?
First of all, let me say that I had a 14 yr old Dog who absolutely loved people and especially kids.
My husband had registered him there when he was a pup; so one day I had to bring him to Brookfield Vet because his right ear was swollen. The Vet recommended that he stayed for surgery overnight, so we had to leave him there. The next day we took him home, we were wondering why his eye was crooked and he was walking funny. We assumed it was probably the anesthiesa that was given to him before surgery. So we just went on and surely he physically started getting worse; thinking it was just him aging like humans.
A year and a half later going through a rough time seeing my dog break down physically, I had to rush my dog back because he could not breathe. They ended up putting him down, until that actual day the Vet told me that the time we took him in for surgery for his ear, he flat lined and she supposedly had to revive him. SHE DIDN'T TELL NEITHER OF US UNTIL A YEAR AND A HALF LATER!!!?? What happened to owner's rights?
Sadly, after putting our dog down she had asked me if I wanted to cremate or have his paw print on a piece of cement w/ his name on it. I said I would love to have his paw print as a reminder. Shortly after paying for everything; she told me that it would be done in a week.
A week and a half later and still no phone call, so I just decided to go by myself and ask. She told me "she was going to call me" and that his paw print wasn't ready and that I'd have to wait another week!!?
So, all in all... for those who decide to bring their pets/loved one there, I wouldn't! If you care about your animal as well as your money, DO NOT GO TO BROOKFIELD VETERINARY HOSPITAL. The Vet is so inconsiderate, and doesn't seem to care. Plus, she seems to be very confused and nervous once you start talking to her...
Good Luck for those who are already registered there! You'll know what I'm talking about...
I find Brookfield to be a great vets. I was not to happy with the vet tech. Both vets where very nice and took the time to explain everything to me. I will be going back here again!
