Fact: bartender Leo Chow wears bike shorts and a fanny pack year-round. Fiction: supplied by the novelists and freelance writers who frequent this book-lined cave of a room. Shots of bourbon, $5.50.
Living up to its name, there's a warm glow here like a pizza oven, although the food is only served upstairs. On the main floor, chilling is the order of the day, starting with soft, photogenic lighting that makes everyone look at least 5 hours younger. Budget conscious-beer and liquor, retro-cool couches for laid back chats or snogs, and a couple of pool tables so you can see if you still got... more
Definitely a dive. But for the prices and wait time, I'd pass if I were you. Drinks aren't expensive, but they're not cheap either. Atmosphere is nicely divey, though it smells like someone is perpetually cooking curry burritos in a mystery microwave. Service was fine, but wouldn't consider it friendly at all. My main problem was with the wait times for drinks. You go to a bar to drink. When... more
It's decently cozy, but god knows how much mold and bacteria lives in this dank dive.
The coat check girls are super nice, but that's kind of the only good thing going for this place. Drinks aren't particularly cheap, it's too small to comfortably accommodate all its patrons, and there's always some a@!%!*e hogging the pool table.

Great food, and so cheap! The menu was tapas style, but they will serve food as entrees if you want. Dishes like pork loin with dijon crust and ginger citrus glaze at $3 or $4. Very relaxed room with wood floors and brick walls. Excellent service. I will go back.
Eclectic bar with beer on tap and a good selection of whiskey. Open daily.
Brickhouse Late Nite Bistro & Bar is a business in Vancouver.
It takes courage to open a late night place in Vancouver's East Side. For Brickhouse Late Nite Bistro & Bar however, the risk paid off. Patrons can hang around at the bar downstairs to play pool and nibble on munchies, or they can sit down in the bistro where the atmosphere is less informal. A blend of West end and Asian specialties dot the menu. Pair the entrees with wines, martinis or single... more
