The Scene
A popular weekend spot, the line up starts fairly early (usually by nine or ten o'clock). By Vancouver standards, the Blarney Stone is the perfect place to bring a large group because of the long wooden tables and benches that encourage conversation and offer group seating. With a bar both upstairs and down, the lineups are short and the service is friendly.

Food is terrible. I feel for people who think this is a 'typical' Irish pub. The only thing Irish about it is the name! No Irish staff, expensive drinks, and no atmosphere. Try the Irish Heather right next door instead if you want authentic Irish.

I saw a woman pouring her beer into a water bottle, which she put into her purse before she left. Hmmmm ...

When she and the fella she was with left, I moved over to their table as it was on the patio.... more

Always featuring lively Celtic house bands on the weekends, this Gastown-area bar packs in a crowd that is growing along with their reputation as a midsize live-music destination. Recent renovations include a new, larger stage, an improved sound system and better seating. A mezzanine offers another great sightline to the entertainment which also features touring artists and high-drawing local... more
