Benchmark Seriously not the case here.
I had my car air conditioning serviced by these folks, they found a damaged line. instead of ordering in a replacement line ($ 80.00 part) they jerry mandered it with a brass compression fitting on an aluminum line (mismatched metals can lead to galvanic corrosion). The A/C worked for one season and the repair cost me over $600.00 dollars for not a "repair" but a "patch job". The following season the A/C failed to work due to the leak at the patch job. I went back and asked to have it "actually fixed" like they charged me for.
The service writter fed me a line of B.S. about the diffrent refrigerants and how they dont work on those older systems, then the line was how they dont have the vaccuum pump for that type of system. Bottom line is I had to fix it myself and it cost me $ 218.40 and an hour of my time. New line, Pressure tested, New recharge and a nice cool car.
Watch what the service writer tries to pull on you and check your vehicle after the work is done. Is it actually fixed or just patched! Shame on you for charging for less than Benchmark quality.
Your needs are first with them!
During a heavy snow fall and plowing my van through some deep mounds produced by plows, my van started to overheat and the power steering quit. I drove it directly to Benchmark. Without a scheduled appointment the owner came out to have a look. He noticed that snow had become lodged and compacted in the engine compartment, causing the problems. Heres the kicker: the van, unkown to me the van had been recalled by the manufacturer to have a "snowblock" installed (I did not recieve notification). Benchmark had the part delivered and installed while I waited. Now that's service! This is an example of the customer first attitude of Benchmark owners and employees. I recommened them as a first class organization.
