"Love it!" laud fans of this "shrine" to BBQ in Roncesvalles that's gaining quite a following for its "unique", "delicious" 'cue like brisket burnt ends and pulled-pork poutine served up in a "lively, modern" smokehouse setting; service is "friendly", and tabs are cheap enough that "lines" are now the norm, so make a reservation.

Hardly the first BBQ joint in town, but if you believe the Internet, it's by far the city's best. The brainchild of former ad-man Dave Neinstein and his business partner Jonathan Persofsky, Barque has been doing gangbusters since opening (getting a table might take weeks) thanks to a smoke-everything philosophy and a penchant for elevating classic southern BBQ beyond the plastic chairs and... more

Barque Smokehouse is a new addition to Roncesvalles, located at the corner of Geoffery in the old Bistro 299 space. This casual smokehouse boasts an assortment of classic southern barbecue, crafted cocktails, and seasonal desserts. As its name implies, Barque takes a twist on the classics while still remaining true to their flavour.Having made reservations in advance, we were seated promptly... more

Good brunch experience. Both the service and the food were good, and it's a nice spot for a weekend brunch

Place is rather small and a bit noisy but their eggs benny are to die for! Definitely one of the best I have tried in town. The eggs are on top of corn bread which gives this beautiful sweetness to the dish! Love the seasoning on the home fries as well.

Have definitely gone back multiple times for my eggs benny and hope to try their dinner menu soon.

I've been to barque a few times over the past year. At this point I know what the expect. Incredible service with mouthwatering dishes. A few times that I've gone there was a bit of a wait but the staff were very informative and set good expectations for wait times, even when I've showed up with a larger group of people. Love this place.

Infusing Southern cuisine with modern and Canadian influences, this self-branded urban barbecue joint serves up a selection ranging from brisket poutine to smoked Miami ribs, with great cocktails too. Lunch, dinner daily. Casual. Entrees: $12-$28. MC, V.

Barque Smokehouse is the venture of friends David Neinstein and Jonathan Persofsky and is located in Roncesvalles Village. Opened in 2011, this Southern-inspired barbecue joint is a hit among the locals. The exposed bricks, rough wood paneling, barbecue artifacts in wooden shelves and vintage chairs, give this place a warm and inviting look. Feast on their Smoked Duck Tacos with Hoisin BBQ... more
