Best value in the heart of Banff
Not only is this place just a 2 block walk to the heart of Banff, but it is clean, comfortable and fairly new. They have a small on site pub with patio which serves its purpose well and a great onsite restaurant (food is right up there for Banff!). One small drawback is no Air conditioning, but then 90% of the time in Banff this isn't an issue, but on those rare hot days, it can be a bit stuffy.
A well-run hotel
I'll admit right away, the Banff Ptarmigan Inn has some of the comfiest beds I've ever tried, particularly for a hotel. They have down mattress covers, so expect a good sleep. Otherwise the hotel is very typical, with rooms that are like rectangles with two beds, a TV and a table. But really, what more do you need most of the time? It's clean, so no problem there.

Over priced
August 05, 2014Room is big but pretty old and a bit smelly. No a/c need to turn the fan and windows on 24/7 and even so still smell. Parking/lobby/room is not easy to navigate and signages are not too too clear, but once you know the floor plan and this becomes less of a problem. Internet service is just a joke! I tried in-room, lobby, restaurant, and .... extemely lousy. Breakfaxt is included and is good.... more

Very friendly!
