I have always liked Banana Republic for it's understated, classic styles but it seems to be getting more pretentious lately. Still worth the visit though, for nice white shirts, neutrals, etc.
The look is more traditional than trendy, more work than play. It's the place to find a crisp white shirt, classic black wool trousers, linen-blend chinos, ultra-soft pima cotton golf shirts and basic cashmere sweaters. Jewellery and buttery-soft leather handbags are more au courant, and at end of season, priced to sell.

This store has the WORST sales people. Just plain RUDE and so lazy! No greeting at the door like the other stores. I asked the guy for another item that was not damaged, and he looked at like I asked him for his liver. Yeah, and he was also my cashier.

I personally don't shop here, however, have come here to get a sweater for my cousin's B-day who likes the beige and the bland. Prices are mid range. Customer service was a bit snobby but I was there to buy something for my cousin and not for me.
I'm very short (5'2") and athletic, which means it is almost impossible for me to find pants that fit properly. Either the legs will be way too long, or the pants will fit okay in the hips and thighs but be huge in the waist. I had a few job interviews and really needed dress pants, so I followed my friends recommendations and went to Banana Republic.
