La Malbaie is perfectly situated to explore the Charlevoix Region of Quebec and the L'Auberge des Peupliers is a fine place to begin and end each day. La Malbaie is worth a day stop-over for its museum, casino, and restaurants. We stayed at Auberge des Peupliers, which is very dog-friendly, and the people working there are very hospitable. One word of caution- the standard rooms are very, very small. Good thing we only brought in our overnight bags- not enough room for all our luggage.
