This hostel is in a nice loc. Just around the corner from Duluth (great restos). The owner has a great sense of humor. Still I did not feel comfortable here: the common areas (kitchen, tv room) closed at 11pm (disappointing!). Basically you were expected to go out and party or go to sleep. I personally like a hostel where on occasion one can stay in and relax until the wee hours of the morning.... plus

We spent two nights here and my traveling companion really liked it. My opinion was more mixed.

The people in the hostel as well those running it were really very nice, and that counts for a lot. The hostel looks like a regular house: big kitchen, comfy living room, normal sized bedrooms with five or so beds apiece. Unlike some hostels, the bathroom was a single-occupant regular bathroom.

I stayed here for a week in a dorm room with 5 beds. Linen and breakfast (bread, jam, coffee and tea) are included in the price ($22/person). There are 3 bathrooms altogether, one on each floor, and I never had to wait for my turn. The kitchen has all the cooking utensils and spices to make a decent meal. The owner is very friendly.
