I phoned to setup an appointment to have my carpet cleaned, and the man who answered was rude. I would answer his questions, and then he'd ask me again... and when I'd give the answer, he'd say "Sir I'm not clairvoyant" -- you don't have to be clairvoyant to listen and communicate with a customer! I run my own IT business -- if I talked to my customers like this, I would be broke and living in a cardboard box. I'm very calm and relaxed but after several minutes of this I got so fed up, I had to ask him what his freaking problem is -- at which point he hung up on me. I absolutely hate conflict, but I haven't had a bad experience like this with a business in several years, and I really feel the need to share my experience to help others avoid the same mistake.
