When it comes to roti in this city there's plenty of options. Normally when I'm anywhere near Parkdale I'll opt for Bacchus but as they were unexpectedly closed earlier this week, I wandered down the street to Ali's West Indian Roti Shop which despite what the vinyl sign out front would have you believe, this place has actually being around for a while.Ali's is one of those restaurants that... more

Great Vegetarian options too
August 03, 2014I was referred to Ali's by local Jamaicans who said it's the best in town. Great food and roti, many great vegetarian options. Very friendly service, who were happy to explain everything and share their culture.

July 23, 2014The paratha (buss-up-shut) roti is excellent. The food is delicious, fresh, and authentic. The service is pretty friendly and the wall murals are hilariously good. Honestly, this is a tiny mom & pop - you will def. get paper / styrofoam plates and plastic utensils, but if that doesn't bother you then you're in for some really good well-priced food... more

Average and Disappointing

I came here for my caribbean food tour of Toronto. I had the goat curry roti and was frankly disappointed.
The roti wrapping was good. I could tell it was freshly made, some chewiness, but no smokiness i associate with good fresh roti.
The big disappointment was the goat curry. It was lacking flavour. I don't know if the curry...
