In September of 1991, the Academy of Spherical Arts opened with what is now the Samuel May Room. The facility was expanded in 1995 with the building of the John Brunswick Room, and again in 1997 with the George Chenier Room. We had wanted to host a holiday party at this location and start to finish - trying to get this simple booking reserved was a disaster. Service was terrible and policies are all about the venue....not about the customer. In a party of four, three had good meals. It was recommended that I have the Chilean sea bass, which I really like. It was so bad I am not convinced that it was even sea bass. It was dry and not the usual flakey nature. It crumbled under the fork not like sea bass but like over cooked fish.... more
We had a business luncheon a the Academy and the buffet offered a wide selection of cold salads, hot entrees and delicious desserts. The Academy of Spherical Arts occupies a sixth of what used to be Canada’s biggest billiards factory.
