Wilensky's Light Lunch has not changed much since it opened in 1932. It is still owned by the Wilensky family, has much of the original decor and even some of the original customers! You can still order our Wilensky's Special: grilled salami and bologna on a roll with mustard. There are hot dogs as well. All the meat is beef. There is also an old-fashioned soda fountain in which you can get... more

It's just a pressed sandwich of all-beef salami, all-beef bologna, processed cheese and mustard on a roll.

Wilensky's has been a Montréal tradition since 1932 and has its share of regular pilgrims nostalgic for its grilled-meat sandwiches, low prices, curt service, and utter lack of decor. This is Duddy Kravitz/Mordecai Richler territory, and the ambience can best be described as Early Jewish Immigrant. There are nine counter stools, no tables. The house special is grilled salami and bologna, with... more

After a late breakfast at Faberge , decided to walk around and discover this pretty street called Fairmont! Saw this spot looked retro, dated! I had to go in! First Thing I noticed was books for sale for a buck! I then saw a counter and people and I realized that I was a restaurant / grab n go spot!

Since I wasn't hungry I opted for a strawberry milkshake! It was only 2.17$ !!!

The place is... more

One of the reviewers below said "who could actually want to sit and eat there?".. Err... Me?
I was actually on my way from the Fairmont bagel shop, and this little place in the corner looked rather quirky. After a few moments trying to figure out what it could be, I finally realised it's a little restaurant and decided to... more

Three ghostly odd folks serving not so good / stale food- come for the story to tell afterwards. Use the washroom. It's a must. Be careful not to stick your foot in the slop bucket.

Il est composé de quelques... more

Wilensky's Light Lunch, a classic lunch counter serves but two things of any import: a chopped egg sandwich and "The Special," a renowned mixture of salami and bologna on a kaiser, swimming in yellow mustard. Most diners polish it all off with an old-fashioned hand-pulled Cherry Coke, and escape into Mile End only about CAD5 poorer. The well-worn interior has been the setting for many a... more
