The tall, dark, and handsome space has the requisite salvaged-heritage touches (reclaimed wood, vintage tiles) that befit a Gastown resto (the light fixtures make clever use of curtain pulleys rescued from the Pantages Theatre). Came here for dineout with a bunch of friends for a birthday on a Thursday. They had the $40 price and several options on the menu. Dineout Vancouver 2016.

I came here with my wife and 4 other friends for dinner. We had heard many good things about wildebeest so we decided to try it out.

We decided to come here because the menu for dine out looked pretty good..
When we first walked and it was busy..nice decor. Wood themed with ambient lighting..not too bright and not too dark. It was well lit in the places it had to be.

I'll... more

An open kitchen and a fine Contemporary cuisine greets the diner at this classy restaurant. The Wildebeest prepares magical dishes from farm-fresh vegtables and meat in order to provide a superior dining experience to the guests. Gorge on exquisite bacon-wrapped country paté, aged ham and slow cooked natural angus beef short ribs. The desserts are a steal with samples like the Pink Lady and... more

Wildebeest combines adventure and comfort in each of their dishes and in their decor. The menu focuses on using all of the animal and there is a good mix of familiar and not so familiar items. Wildebeest's team is passionate about sourcing ingredients from local farmers so that they can ensure that they're supporting ethical practices that are both good for the environment and the animals being... more
