Makes the Star Wars Cantina look like a J Crew catalog. Toothless hookers, strung out tweakers, people who like to yell, uncomfortable bathroom situations...be sure to spend some time observing the folks at Pigeon Park a block down. I won't forget the scene when a bag of oranges was spilled by a passer by.

The West started hosting bands and kicking out the hookers. As much as I hate gentrification I like this place a little more, although I still cant believe they kicked me out for calling theyre beer s@!t. The sound system is nothing special, but you can see the acts from most of the bar and it seems to be a pretty consistent event on weekends. Maybe worth seeing in the future, as Hastings... more
