I alerted Vinci Parking about the garbage littering the parking lot. Wet beer boxes, cigarette butts, fast food containers.
I suggested that the person who comes by to check that the parking passes are valid could pick up the litter.
They did not respond and it's been a month.
The parking lot gets dirtier and dirtier by the day!
Stay away from Vinci Park. I used to park there regularly. ALWAYS paid for my ticket. They gave me a $20 parking ticket stating that I used an expired meter ticket. However, I had purchased the meter ticket & for the full daily amount ($9.00). I watched the screen on the meter to ensure that it had ticked over to the next day. Unfortunately the ticket produced displayed an expiry of that same day BUT did say that I had paid in full for my parking (meter should have printed expiry of next day). I did not double check that the meter had printed the ticket correctly. My bad. I called to see if we could clear it up – no answer, just a machine saying leave your name & number. I left 2 messages – no answer. I got their FAX number from their machine & sent a FAX explaining & providing contact info – no answer. I paid their $20 ticket & will never park in any of their lots again. They threw away a guaranteed $4000 annual income for a one-time $20 ticket. I don’t mind paying my fair share, but I HATE being cheated. Now I walk farther to park in an honest lot that provides a correct receipt. No big surprise that the Vinci Park lot regularly has empty spots even though lots close by are full to overflowing.
On Friday I parked at the VinciPark lot at Smyth Medical Center. I paid my deposit of $12 upon entry at 8:46am and attended to my business. Upon my departure at 10:05am, I proceeded to the booth to pay my bill, only to find it empty. No note or signage was posted. I waited 5 minuted and eventually I pulled through the raised barrier in order to allow other traffic to pass. After pulling though the attendant returned. I walked back to the booth window after the car that was there pulled away to request my refund of the parking cost difference. The attendant informed me that I was not entitled to any refund as I had already left the lot. I told him that that was ridiculous, as I had to pull out to let other vehicles through. He told me it didn't matter, and that he was not going to refund my monies. I told him that I would park in front of his barrier until I got my
refund. I did so and immediately called the telephone number posted on the booth. I left a message as nobody answered. The attendant told me he was going to call the Police to have me removed, and I welcomed this suggestion and encouraged him to do so.
In the mean time another lady in the same boat as I was in went and talked to the attendant and requested to speak to his supervisor. He relented and asked us to pull back around and he would refund any amount of our deposit that had not been used. When I arrived at the booth he lectured me, indicating that I should have known that I was to
have waited at the barrier until he arrived back as he was in the bathroom. I accepted this behavior so I could get my deposit refund. As it turns out, this had going on so long that I had no deposit refund. This was at 10:19am.
First, I'm disappointed because there was no way for me to have known to wait at the barrier as there was no sign indicating this or why it was not manned.
Second, I'm disappointed because the delay of the attendant not being at his booth only profits VinciPark. The longer people are parked, the more VinciPark makes and the more it costs me. I understand that people need breaks, but it should not be my responsibility to fund these
breaks by having to wait.
Third, I'm disappointed for the way I was spoken too by the attendant, who was clearly in the wrong. Other patrons indicated that we should not tolerate this.
Finally, I'm disappointed because I was led to believe that VinciPark considered customer service their number one priority. I visited their Ottawa head office but the supervisor was not in. I left my name and phone number and was told I'd get a call back to discuss the incident. As of Tuesday, no call back.
