I used to live just north of here on Markham Street, and would quite often pop in to get essentials when I couldn't/didn't want to make it to the supermarket for a proper shop.
The basics are in abundance - juices, milks (dairy and non), meat, veggie meats, bread are all stocked and pretty well priced. They have a fantastic selection of dips & hummus for some reason too, which is great.

When I lived in this neighbourhood, this became my grocery store of choice. Going to a giant supermarket would've required a 15 minute walk, and in all honesty wasn't worth the aggravation when the Village Market was 3 minutes away.
I found the prices here to be comparable to those of the Dominion (now a Metro.) The store was (obviously) much smaller in size, but that turned out to be a good...

One of the pitfalls of downtown living is the dire lack of grocery store access. Convenience grocery stores serve as a stop gap, for instance, when you can't be bothered to trudge all the way down to the Metro and lug groceries in an errand cart back.
